SECTION 8 PROJECT BASED SITE BASED WAITING LIST OPENING FOR CAPEN COURT a SENIOR HOUSING COMPLEX (posted 1.4.10) |

The Medford Housing Authority (MHA) will make applications available for the purpose of creating a site based waiting list for the new Senior Housing Complex at the Capen Court Development in West Somerville. This development consists of 95 one-bedroom units for Elderly and disabled families. This list will open January 1, 2009 and will remain open until further notice. Applicants will be selected from the Capen Court Project Based Waiting list based on date and time of application and eligibility for a preference category.
Capen Court is a non smoking Senior Housing complex Section 8 project-based development located at the site of the former state-aided public housing development. Each unit has a full kitchen, bath with a walk in shower and combined dining/living room space. The building will have a community room and laundry facilities at each floor. The building residents will have access to the new VNA building next door for supportive services and meals.
To be eligible for Project Based Voucher Assistance, applicants must have an income of $31,550 or less for one, $36,100 or less for two.
You may obtain an application at the Mystic Activity Center/Tenant Selection Department, 530 Mystic Avenue and the SHA Administration building, 30 Memorial Road, Somerville on or after January 1, 2010 Monday through Wednesday 8-4; Thursday 8-7 and Friday 8-12 or by calling 617-625-1152 to have an application mailed to you. You may also obtain an application at the Medford Housing Authority Administrative Offices at 121 Riverside Drive, Medford, MA.
