When faced with a vacancy on the board in the position of the Governor's State Appointee, housing authorities should notify EOHLC using this form. The state has 120 days to fill the vacancy. The 120 day period starts upon the later of:

  • actual date on which the vacancy occurred
  • date EOHLC receives notice

If EOHLC does not fill the vacancy after 120 days, the mayor in a city or Board of Selectmen in a town can appoint a person by majority vote. [See PHN 2016-07 for details]

To be considered for appointment or reappointment as the Governor's State Appointee to a local housing authority, candidates should visit this state website.
