TENANT BOARD MEMBERS IN TOWNS - LANGUAGE INCLUDED IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BILL

The House and Senate recently passed Economic Development bill - "Act Enabling Partnerships for Growth" S2874 and H4887. The bills are now before a Conference Committee to reconcile the differences before the Governor signs.

We are very appreciative of Chairman Kevin Honan and Chairman Joe Boncore who both filed amendments in their respective bills containing language pertaining to the appointment of tenants to housing authority boards in towns. We are encouraged that the Conference Committee will resolve the technical differences between the amendments, and we will finally have a process for seating tenants on boards.

Conference Committee members:
Sen. Michael Rodrigues, Senate Chair, Joint Committee on Ways & Means
Rep. Aaron Michlewitz, House Chair, Joint Committee on Ways & Means
Sen. Eric Lesser, Senate Chair, Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies
Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante, House Chair, Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies
Sen. Patrick O'Connor, Ranking Minority, Joint Committee on Ways & Means
Rep. Donald Wong, Ranking Minority, Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies
