Members of MassNAHRO experience many benefits through their membership:
MassNAHRO represents member agencies on legislative and budgetary issues before members of the Massachusetts Legislature and U.S. Congress, and meets with Massachusetts Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) and U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) on issues that significantly affect members and the residents they serve. MassNAHRO’s advocacy in 2019 resulted in an increase to operating subsidy in the state budget by $6.5 Million to $72 Million, filing of anti-spiking bill, and progress on tenant board member legislation

Agency Membership offers discounted registration fees for ALL member housing authority employees and board members.
In addition to conference sessions and the ongoing schedule of Massachusetts Public Housing Administrator (MPHA) and Board Member training and certification modules, MassNAHRO offered several new workshops in 2019 including:

3.) MEMBER SERVICES
MassNAHRO provides information and technical support through monthly newsletters, email alerts and various publications, including Model Personnel Policies and Salary Comparability Study issued in recent years.
Members can also access several assurance programs including bid-free Workers’ Compensation Coverage and discounted auto insurance. The Centralized Section 8 Waiting List was enhanced in 2019 with the transition to GoSection8.
In 2020, MassNAHRO will develop and implement a peer-to-peer technical assistance program to assist struggling agencies and new staff in all areas of housing authority operations.
