On May 30, the Trump Administration released its FY2026 full year budget, containing devastating cuts to housing and community development programs and the creation of a State Rental Assistance Block Grant. This is the first step in the appropriations process, and Congress has the ultimate authority in shaping the budget. All members, even if you do not administer federal vouchers or programs, are encouraged to send a letter to your U.S. Senators and Representatives. National NAHRO's Action Alert Center has letters ready to send - just put in your name and zip code. Letters can be edited to include local impacts and information. HUD Secretary Scott Turner will present the budget before the Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, June 10 at 10:00 AM.
