Instructor:  James Comer, Deputy Director of Rhode Island Housing

James Comer is the Deputy Executive Director of Rhode Island Housing, a position he has held since 2020.  Before taking this role, Mr. Comer served as Executive Director of Women’s Development Corporation, a nonprofit developer of affordable housing throughout New England (2016-20). Prior to that, Mr. Comer served as Director of Operations for both the Cambridge (2013-16) and Fall River  (2006-13) Housing Authorities. He also served as a Development Officer at RI Housing from 2004-2006. Mr. Comer was Senior Planner for the Cambridge Housing Authority from 2001-4 and began his career as a Property Manager for the Boston Housing Authority from 1996-2001.  Mr. Comer received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Sociology from Boston College and a Master of Science degree in Public Affairs from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and is a former Executive Board member of MassNAHRO.
