Summary:  Do you, as a housing administrator, feel apprehensive about the prospect of moving out a tenant? Are you worried about taking that final step?  Do you feel apprehensive even about the prospect of moving out the belongings of a tenant who passed away?  If so, you're not alone.  These end-of-tenancy issues are common and can be difficult to manage and litigation-prone.  This training will aim to assuage your concerns, so that you can make confident decisions about the move out process. You will learn how to proceed with a lawful move out, how to treat abandoned property (including cars), and what practices and policies you can implement beforehand to avoid/mitigate these end-of-tenancy issues.

 Presenter: Jonathan Driscoll, Esq.

Jonathan L. Driscoll, Esq. is the owner of Driscoll & Driscoll, PC, a law firm with over 35 years experience in the housing field. Jonathan has worked in the public housing industry for approximately ten years.  A 2012 graduate of New England Law | Boston, Jonathan brings a rich and diverse legal background to the firm. Jonathan has worked in the areas of public and private housing, criminal law, estate planning, investigations, and business organization services. While working for the Boston Housing Authority, Jonathan litigated Section 8 termination hearings and also assisted in corporate by-law restructurings. Jonathan has also worked for the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General in Boston, Massachusetts and the Law Offices of Larry Conway in San Diego, California.  In 2010, Jonathan completed a program in human rights and international law through the National University of Ireland at Galway in Galway, Ireland. Jonathan is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Jonathan has also been a respected MassNAHRO and NERC/NAHRO trainer presenting on a number of different legal topics. 

Cancellation Policy: MassNAHRO must receive written notice of cancellation at least eight (8) days prior to the event. Refunds will not be given in cases where a registrant cancels less than eight (8) days in advance or fails to attend. When payment is not received prior to the event, registrant is responsible for the full registration fee if written notice of cancellation is not received by MassNAHRO at least eight (8) days prior to the event. Registration fees can not be applied to future training or events.
