Summary: Recent updates to 760 CMR 6.00 (occupancy standards and tenant participation regulation), effective June 7, 2024, have brought important changes to how rent is calculated in state-aided public housing.

Through examples and pop quizzes, this interactive training will assist participants in:

  • Identifying Massachusetts General Laws and regulations related to public housing rent determination
  • Learning about income inclusions, exclusions, and deductions to accurately calculate rent
  • Grasping all the new regulatory changes

 

Presenter: Cylas Martell-Crawford, Esq.

Cylas Martell-Crawford, Esq., is a graduate of the University at Albany and Albany Law School. He is MassNAHRO’s Director of Policy and Program Development. Before joining MassNAHRO he served as counsel and a lobbyist at an Albany-based government affairs firm where he oversaw compliance and lobbying for several human services clients. He previously worked as an associate attorney at a general litigation firm. He has a deep background in policy formation, advocacy campaigns and legislative research and bill drafting. 

 

Cancellation Policy: MassNAHRO must receive written notice of cancellation at least eight (8) days prior to the event.  Refunds will not be given in cases where a registrant cancels less than eight (8) days in advance or fails to attend.  When payment is not received prior to the event, registrant is responsible for the full registration fee if written notice of cancellation is not received by MassNAHRO at least eight (8) days prior to the event.  Registration fees can not be applied to future trainings.
